Introduction
Plants play an important role in the world in many ways. Plants store carbon dioxide and they produce oxygen, which gives us air to breathe. Plants help move water from the soil to the atmosphere through the process of transpiration. We eat many foods that come from plants, especially fruits, vegetables, and some spices. In fact, about 7,000 different plant species have been used as food by people! We also use plants in many medicines for health care. On this website, we will be discovering the plant life cycle, to get a better understanding of how plants grow. We will also be learning how to identify long vowel sounds in our readings, and how to sequence the events in the plant life cycle. This website features videos, practice quizzes, homework assignments, interactive activities, and much more important information that we will be learning. There are featured worksheets and SMART Board activities that we will also be using during class instruction. Enjoy!
